Lindsey Vonn Crash: Skier’s Season Over

A crash that caused skier Lindsey Vonn to be taken off the slopes via helicopter has also cut her ski season short. Thankfully it looks like she will be fine but no more slopes for her this year. The Olympic champion took a frightening spill during the Alpine World Championships in Austria on Tuesday. According to The New York Times Vonn’s right knee bent awkwardly as she landed a jump right before she literally somersaulted  down the mountain. If it sounds like a scary sight,  it was. Lindsey had to be airlifted to the hospital, yes it was that bad. Her rep released the below statement regarding the blonde beauty. “Lindsey was involved in a crash in today’s World Championship Super G race in Schladming, Austria. She is currently being evaluated and we will provide an update when it becomes available.” A spokesperson for the Alpine Press sent out a Tweet not long after the accident occurred. “Doctor on hill with @linseyvonn suspects tibial plateau fracture.
