After two separate delays, the Jersey Shore cast has finally arrived in Italy! Despite some reported Italian hostility towards the show -- including a crackdown on filming by the Mayor of Florence -- the eight housemates were greeted by a big crowd of fans upon their arrival. Now they just have to figure out how to, uh, talk to them.
"Obviously we need to communicate with Italians and none of us speak Italian," Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi told People.
"I need to know how to order grilled chicken when I get down there," added Ronnie Magro, who ordered Rosetta Stone language software as soon as he found out the gang was heading to Italy.
Speaking Italian seems to be a secondary concern, however, to maintaining their figures. Ronnie and Snooki, in particular, seem to be under the impression that Italians eat nothing but spaghetti.
"All we're gonna eat is pasta. We're all gonna get fat," complained Polizzi, who recently lost a lot of weight thanks to a diet and strict gym routine. "I'm very, very scared because I'm trying to lose weight. So going to Italy and drinking wine and having spaghetti all day -- it throws me off course."
Correct us if we're wrong, but that sounds like a step up from inhaling vodka and fast food at the shore house...
According to the Daily Mail, cast members have already been spotted around town buying cleaning supplies and hitting the gym. Hmm, that's two thirds of the way to GTL -- think there are tanning salons in Italy?
